Adobe Sign - Agreement created

Use the start event An event that triggers a workflow to run when it occurs. An example is Box - New file, which triggers the workflow to run when a new file is uploaded to the specified folder. Adobe Sign - Agreement created to start your workflow whenever a new agreement is created in your Adobe Sign connection.

Configure the start event

  1. Open the Start event configuration panel: At the top of the designer canvas on the Designer page, click Start event.
  2. For Start from, select Adobe Sign.
  3. For Event, select Adobe Sign - Agreement created.

    The Configuration section is displayed to configure the start event.

  4. Select a connection and subscription type

    1. Select a Connection. If you do not have a connection, see Add a connection.
    1. For Scope, select whose events you want to subscribe to.

  5. (Optional) Click Add condition to set conditions for the start event. Set conditions that start your workflow only when defined conditions are true.

View start event variables

You can view the start event variables automatically added to the workflow.

  • At the top of the Start event configuration panel, click Show variables.

The start event variables come in an object called Start variable and include the following:

  • Sender email: (Text) Email address of the sender of agreement.
  • Agreement ID: (Text) The unique ID generated to identify the agreement.
  • Agreement name: (Text) Name of the agreement.
  • Status: (Text) Status of the agreement.
  • Created date: (DateTime) Date and time of the creation of agreement.
  • Expiration date: (Text) Expiration date of the agreement.
  • Recipient emails: (Collection) Email addresses of the recipients of the agreement.
  • Recipient roles: (Collection) Roles of the recipients.
  • Recipient companies: (Collection) Companies where the recipients are associated with.
  • Document IDs: (Collection) Unique IDs generated to identify the documents created.
  • Document names: (Collection) Name given to the documents created.
  • Supporting document IDs: (Collection) Unique IDs generated to identify the supporting documents.
  • Supporting document display labels: (Collection) Labels used to identify the supporting documents.

Maintain path integrity

Caution: If a file/folder that's used in a workflow is moved, renamed, or deleted, any workflows that use that file/folder will not start or will fail. Make sure you keep the paths in your workflow configurations up to date.

  Scope

The owner of the events to which you can subscribe to:

  • User: Agreements associated with the user level can trigger to start the workflow.
  • Group: Agreements associated with a group level (admin and users) can trigger to start the workflow.

Conditions

Add condition

Displays fields for defining a new condition.

 

When

The start variable that the operator compares with the value.

 

Operator

How the When variable and Value are compared. Select from the drop-down. The operators available in the drop-down depend on the When variable type.

For example, you want your workflow to start when the sender's email address contains the word John. In the condition: 'When Sender email contains John, the operator is contains.

 

Value

The text or variable that the operator compares with the When variable. Type to enter text. The variable type must match the When variable type. Example: in the condition: 'When Sender email contains John, the operator is contains, the value is John.

 

Add

Saves the condition to the start event.

 

Cancel

Discards the condition you are editing.

 

all/any

If you select:

  • all: then all conditions must be true for the workflow to start.
  • any: then at least one of the multiple conditions must be true for the workflow to start.

 

(Edit condition)

Redisplays condition fields for editing.

 

(Delete condition)

Deletes the indicated condition.
