Use the Fastly - Create a backend for a service version action A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. Actions are the steps the workflow performs to complete a process. to create a backend for a specific version of a service. There can be multiple backends attached to a service, but each backend is specific to one service.

Configure the Fastly - Create a backend for a service version action

  1. Add the action to the workflow and open the action configuration panel. For more information, see Add an action to the workflow.

  1. Select a Connection. If you do not have a connection, see Add a connection.
  1. Select the Service name.
  2. Select the Version number.
  3. Specify the Hostname, IPv4, or IPv6 address.
  4. Specify the Backend name.
  5. Specify the Port.
  6. Create or select a variable for the output.

Service name The name of the service you want to add the domain to. If using a variable, use the service ID.
You can use the output object of an Fastly - Get services action to retrieve the service ID.

  Version number This is an integer identifying a service version.
You can use the output object of an Fastly - Get service versions action to retrieve the version number.

  Hostname, IPv4, or IPv6 address The Hostname, IPv4, or IPv6 address of the backend. Text, Decimal, Integer, Boolean, DateTime, Collection
  Backend name The name of the backend. Text, Decimal, Integer, Boolean, DateTime, Collection
  Port Port on which the backend server is listening for connections from Fastly. Setting port to 80 or 443 will also set use_ssl automatically (to false and true respectively). The default is 80. Integer
