Use row repetition
Nintex external platform is required for this feature. For details, see Enable Nintex external platform features.
This topic describes how to use row repetition with table data.
Row repetition uses tags that pull data from collection variables to repeat information in a table as a new row. Supported formats: .docx, .pptx, .xlsx.
To use row repetition
-
In the Document Generation action, in a new table, select Row for Repeated format type.
For information on how to add a table, see Add tables.
-
Open the Nintex Document Tagger: In the Document Generation action, select the template you want and then click Open and tag.
-
In the template, insert a table from the Insert tab in the ribbon.
Note: For Microsoft Excel, select the range of cells you want to turn into a table.
For row repetition, the table should only contain one non-header row. For information on how to insert a table, see the Microsoft article Insert a table.
-
In the Nintex Document Tagger, expand the subsection for a table to see its available tags.
-
In the template, place your cursor in the table where you want the repeated data to start.
-
In the Nintex Document Tagger, select Table Start Tag.
The tag appears where your cursor was positioned in the document. The start tag indicates where the repeated format begins. Only one start tag is needed per table.
For information on tagging, see Tag templates.
-
In the table, place your cursor after the start tag, and then select a tag from Table Column Tags.
-
Place your cursor in the next non-header row, and then select another tag from Table Column Tags.
When the workflow generates documents from the tagged templates, the tagged data appears in new rows.
