Downloads a file from a SharePoint Online site.

Action settings

Following are the fields and options visible in the configuration settings dialog box for this action.

 URL of file to download

The URL of the file to download.

Credentials

SharePoint Online URL

Specify the SharePoint Online website domain URL. Example: http://targetdomain.sharepoint.com.

 

 Username

A username with permissions to download the file.

 

 Password

The password for the above username.

Output

Store output for this action using the following selections.

  • File download successful: Specify a Yes/No variable to store whether or not the download of the file was successful. Returns "Yes" if the file was successfully downloaded.
  • Save file as: Select one of the following items.

    • Current item attachment (option available for workflows associated with lists): Attaches the downloaded file to the list item that the workflow is running on.

    • Overwrite current item (option available for workflows associated with document libraries): Overwrites the current item that the workflow is running on.

    • URL: Enter a server relative URL to a document library within the current site. Include filename and extension.

Depending on action requirements, you may be able to add and remove output variables.

To add an output variable

  1. Select an option from the Select more drop-down list.
  2. Click Add to display a drop-down list for the selected option.
  3. Select a previously defined workflow variable from the drop-down list.

To remove an output variable

  • Click Delete ().

    Note: Some output variables cannot be deleted. For example, the output variable URL for the action Bing news search cannot be deleted.
