Dropbox upload file

Nintex external platform is required for this feature. For details, see Enable Nintex external platform features.

Uploads a file to Dropbox.

Action settings

Following are the fields and options visible in the configuration settings dialog box for this action.

Field	Description
File to upload	Select one of the following items. Existing SharePoint Content: Use this option to upload an existing file from the current site. Enter a site-relative URL to the file. Example: Shared%20Documents/statement.docx Content: Use this option to upload a file. Enter the text to insert into the file to be uploaded. For example, insert a reference to the initiator. Note: The file type is determined by the extension specified for the file name. Current item (option available for workflows associated with lists): Use this option to upload the current file that the workflow is running on.
Destination folder	Specify the destination folder name for the file upload. Example: `\Public\Folder A\Subfolder A`
Destination name	The filename and extension to upload the file as.
Overwrite file	Specify whether or not to overwrite if a file with the same name already exists in the destination folder. If not selected and a file exists with the same name, then a number is appended. For example, if a file already exists with the name "Filename.ext," then the uploaded file is saved as "Filename(1).ext."
Authorizing user	Specify an email address for the authorization request. External email addresses can be used. Steps in the authorization process On execution of the action, a message is sent to the email address specified for the authorizing user. The message contains the following details. From: notification@nintexlive.com Subject: Contains the phrases "Nintex" and "Request authorization" Contents: Contains links to authorize or deny the operation When the authorizing user clicks the link to authorize the operation, the authorizing user is prompted to do the following. Log in to the external service Allow Nintex to access the external service Decide whether to waive future Nintex authorization requests for this external service When the prompted actions are completed, the action completes. What happens if the operation is never authorized? If the authorization process is not completed, then the workflow suspends. This situation can occur in the following scenarios. The authorizing user explicitly denies the operation, either by clicking the deny link in the email message or not allowing Nintex access to the external service after logging in. Error logged for suspended workflow: “The service request has been denied.” Seven days pass without completion of the authorization process. Either the authorizing user never clicks the authorize link in the email message or the authorizing user initiates the process but does not complete all steps. For example, the authorizing user logs in to the external service but does not allow Nintex to access the external service. Error logged for suspended workflow: “The service request has expired.”
Output	Store output for this action using the following selections. Upload successful: Specify a Yes/No variable to store whether or not the upload of the file was successful. Returns "Yes" if the file was successfully uploaded. File location: Specify a workflow variable to store the destination folder URL. If you are signed into Dropbox, clicking the URL from this variable directs you to the destination folder. For example, the variable might be logged to history or inserted into an email. How to add and remove output variables Depending on action requirements, you may be able to add and remove output variables. To add an output variable Select an option from the Select more drop-down list. Click Add to display a drop-down list for the selected option. Select a previously defined workflow variable from the drop-down list. To remove an output variable Click Delete (). Note: Some output variables cannot be deleted. For example, the output variable URL for the action Bing news search cannot be deleted.
