LinkedIn retrieve updates

Nintex external platform is required for this feature. For details, see Enable Nintex external platform features.

Retrieves updates from a LinkedIn account.

Action settings

Following are the fields and options visible in the configuration settings dialog box for this action.

Field Description
Authorizing user

Specify an email address for the authorization request. External email addresses can be used.

Search within

Select one of the following items.

  • Account only: Returns updates from the logged in user.
  • All connections: Returns updates from LinkedIn connections.
Messages older than

Specify a UTC date and time to filter results.

If no value is provided, the most recent messages are returned.

Messages newer than

Specify a UTC date and time to filter results.

If no value is provided, the most recent messages are returned.

Update type

Specify the type of update to retrieve.

  • All: Return all update types
  • Application updates: An update that occurred in a partner application.
  • Changed pictures: Profile picture updates.
  • Changed profiles: Profile updates.
  • Company update: Updates on a company that the member is following.
  • New connections: Updates for new connections made.
  • Extended profile updates: A connection has updated their extended profile.
  • Joined a group: A connection has joined a group.
  • Job updates: A connection posted a job on LinkedIn.
  • Recommendations: A recommendation was made.
  • Shared items: A connection has shared an update or link.
Number of updates to return

Specify the maximum number of updates to retrieve.

Show hidden members

Specify whether or not to retrieve updates from connections who have been hidden in LinkedIn.

Output

Store output for this action using the following selections.

  • Result count: Specify a numeric variable to store the number of results retrieved.
  • Update date: Specify a collection variable to store the time and date the update was made.
  • Update type: Specify a collection variable to store the update type.
  • Update: Specify a collection variable to store the update text.
  • Update URL: Specify a collection variable to store the update's web URL.
