Identify controls in use

This topic describes how to identify and copy controls in use.

You can identify controls used in a selected layout or in all layouts defined for the form. You can copy controls from other layouts or from the current layout.

Note: This feature is available in the Classic Forms Designer only.

To display the Controls In Use pane

  • Click Controls In Use on the Forms designer ribbon.

To copy a control from another layout

  1. Click Controls In Use on the Forms designer ribbon to display the Controls In Use pane.
  2. From the drop-down list at the top of the pane, select an option that lists controls not on the current layout; either select the source layout or select a filter.

Controls not on the current layout have a dimmed appearance while controls already on the current layout appear active.

  3. Drag the control onto the current layout.

The tooltip displays "Add to layout." On placement of the control, a linked control is created. For more information on linked controls, see Identify linked controls.
