Upgrading the RPA Server
Follow these steps to upgrade from an earlier version to Nintex.

Upgrading to v21.4.3 and later:
There are 2 ways to perform the upgrade from an old version to the latest version that supports the new queues:

Perform an upgrade on the same existing environment

Side by side - copy the DB to a new location and upgrade it there - recommended!
Before upgrading, make sure to back up the DB and environment.
The option to install a new environment and Export/Import the wizards is not supported .

Configure current SQL instance to ensure support for new version (relevant only if your current version is 19.1.3 or below)

Prepare the Nintex database for upgrade(relevant only if your current is below 5.25.0)

Uninstall the current version of the Nintex RPA Server through Windows Control Panel.

Make sure that OpenSSL in uninstalled. If not, uninstall it manually like you would normally do.
NOTE: This step is relevant when upgrading from any version prior to 20.9.

Open network ports if the default ports aren't relevant to you (check for changes from earlier versions)

Remove the current Console configuration (relevant only if your current version is 19.3 or below)

Install the Nintex RPA Server by following the standard installation procedure while taking into consideration that the database version will also be upgraded.

In case you want to configure SSO during the upgrade, but the former RPA version was not configured with SSO, you need to sync the SSO users in the Admin. See Syncing from a User Federation

Perform data migration:

Migrate your data using the Nintex RPA Migration Tool

Migrate users to the new authentication platform (relevant only if your current version is 19.1.3 or below)

Encrypt the Credentials Vault (relevant only if your current version is 19.3 or below)

Migrate users in Aerobase (relevant when upgrading to version 21.4.1)

After installing Console Plus, you'll need to re-configure the email settings.

Upgrading the RPA Clients
Starting from Client version 19.5, you can automatically deploy software updates to Robots and Studio, on client machines. For more information, see Automatic Client Update.
If you are updating from a version before Client version 19.5, follow these steps:

Uninstall the current versions of Nintex attended/unattended Robots and Studio, as applicable, through Windows Control Panel.

Follow the regular client installation workflow to install and configure the new version of Nintex clients.

Run the Dynamic Advanced Commands installer on each client machine (Studio and Robot)
