K2 Installation and Configuration Guide

The K2 Installation and Configuration Guide provides you with all the information necessary to get K2 Five up and running in your environment - be that environment a single server or a server farm in a distributed network.

  • Plan for your installation
    This section of the Installation and Configuration guide describes some common deployment scenarios for K2, and how to choose the scenario that best fits an organization’s needs. This information will help you to identify the various K2 components, and plan the installation and architectural requirements of K2 against your environment and requirements.
  • Prepare your environment for installation
    Before installing, K2 recommends that you prepare your environment by creating accounts, assigning permissions, and configuring integration points. See the table of contents for a complete list of required and recommended accounts, permissions, and system settings.
  • Install the K2 product suite
    Installing the K2 product suite components can involve a number of separate installs on different machines, depending on the topology you have selected for your deployment. The topics in this section of the Installation guide describe how to install K2.
  • Upgrade K2 4.7 to K2 Five
    Use the K2 Setup Manager to upgrade your K2 4.7 environment to K2 Five. The K2 Setup Manager installs and upgrades the tools you need to design, deploy and use K2 features. The same installer is also used to configure, modify, remove and update K2 Five.

    To ensure your K2 environment performance is at it's best it is essential to have the correct configuration setups. There are several factors and components within the K2 environment that requires specific or suggested configuration setup. This section provides configuration information.

    Once you have your K2 environment up and running, you may need to modify components or change configuration settings. You accomplish this by re-running the Setup Manager to add or remove components, or to change configuration settings.
