Generate your first document

After you create a DocGen Package, it is ready to generate documents. Test the DocGen Packages you create to ensure they work as you expect.

  1. Navigate to a record for the type of DocGen Package you created.

  2. From the record, select the DocGen Package you want to use to generate your document in the DocGen Lightning Component.

    Note: If you do not see the DocGen Lightning Component, you may need to add it to your Page Layouts. To do so, click the Setup gear in the upper right corner and select Edit Page. In the Lightning App Builder, from the Custom - Managed section on the Components navigation panel on the left, drag the DocGen component onto the page. Click Save.

  3. In the DocGen Package component, select the DocGen Package you want to use to generate your document.
  4. Enter the required information for the DocGen Package. For example, you may need to select a contact and delivery option.
  5. Click Run DocGen Package.

An output file will be created based on the specifications of the DocGen Package you selected.
