Import or Export Template
Any template that is created using Simple Setup can be exported and then re-imported and used by a different environment or user, if they have the appropriate permissions. Exporting a template is a useful and quick way to copy or move a template from one environment to another.
For example, let's say you create all of your templates in a demo or test environment, and then when you confirm the template is the way you want it, you would like it to be available in your production environment. By exporting the template, you can then switch to a different environment and import that template. That template can then be used inside of that environment, and even shared with other users.
Important: Templates exported using Simple Setup cannot be imported using the Classic Setup import function. Templates created using Simple Setup are not compatible with the Classic Setup feature.
Only users with the assigned permission have the ability to export a template.

File Validation will display all the data that will be imported with the template. In some cases you may see a warning that the file already exists. In this case, you need to resolve the issue by selecting Use Existing or Save as New.
If you select Save as New the template and design sets are saved as a new file and use the email design sets from the template.
If you select Use Existing the template uses the default email design sets for the account/environment you are currently logged in to. The template does not use the default email design set from the exported account/environment.
