Salesforce Permissions

This information is for the legacy Salesforce solution using classic AssureSign document templates. For all new installations, the new AssureSign for Salesforce Lightning solution should be installed. Refer to Salesforce Lightning for more information.

For users who will submit Salesforce Documents, the following security settings must be configured to allow this access on Standard Objects and Custom Objects.

Standard Object Permissions

To configure permissions on Standard Objects:

  1. Within Salesforce, click on Setup and then click on Manage Users

  2. Under the Manage Users tree click on Profiles

  3. Once the Profiles appear on the right, select which Profile you want to edit and click on the Edit link next to the corresponding profile

  4. Scroll down to the section labeled Standard Object Permissions

  5. When in edit mode, ensure that the Documents section has the following permissions selected:

    • Read

    • Create

    • Edit

    • Delete

  6. Click Save when you have finished.

Built-in standard profiles may not allow certain permissions and features to be edited.

Custom Object Permissions

To configure permissions on Custom Objects:

  1. Within Salesforce, click on Setup and then click on Manage Users

  2. Under the Manage Users tree click on Profiles

  3. Once the Profiles appear on the right, select which Profile you want to edit and click on the Edit link next to the corresponding profile

  4. Scroll down to the section labeled Custom Object Permissions

  5. When in edit mode, ensure that the Settings and Document Records sections have the following permissions selected:

    • Read

    • Create

    • Edit

    • Delete

  6. Click Save when you have finished.

NOTE: Built-in standard profiles may not allow certain permissions and features to be edited.

Visualforce Page Access

To grant a user with a given Profile access to an Nintex eSign Visualforce page:

  1. Within Salesforce, click on Setup and then click on Manage Users

  2. Under the Manage Users tree click on Profiles

  3. Click on the name of the Profile you want to edit

  4. Scroll down to the section labeled Enabled Visualforce Page Access, and click Edit

  5. Select pages from the Available Visualforce Page on the left and click the right arrow to move them to the Enabled Visualforce Pages

  6. After adding the desired pages, click Save.

  7. After saving, the Enabled Visualforce Page Access list should show the pages you added.
