Add Signer

Once you've uploaded and selected the documents to be signed, the next step is to add the signers who will be reviewing and signing those documents. Before Jotblocks can be assigned to a document, and before the document can be sent out, a signer must be added.

Use the following steps to add a signer to a document:

  1. Click the Add Signer button.

  2. Use the default in the Signer Identifier field or change it as desired.

Special characters are not supported for the Signer Identifier in Nintex DocGen for Salesforce. Use only alphanumeric characters, spaces, and underscores, but do not use consecutive spaces and underscores. For example, Signer_1 or Signer 1 are supported, but Signer-1, Signer__1, and Signer _1 are not.

  3. Type in the name of the signer in the Name field.

  4. Type in the email address of the signer in the Email Address field, or type in the SMS to send the text to.

  5. The Style of signature field defaults to Let the signer choose, but you can change it to Drawn, or Typed.

    • Drawn - This optionallows the signature to look like a wet, hand-signed signature.

    • Typed - Allows the signer to select a font type and apply that to their typed name for their signature.

These are the necessary settings that must be set before a document can be sent out to a signer. There are three additional options that can be set that can affect how the signer interacts with the document.

  • Authentication - This allows you to set an optional password depending on your settings - the signer will be required to enter this password before they can access the documents for signing. If enabled, you also have the ability to set up Knowledge Based Authentication.

  • Signer Delegation - When set to yes, this allows the signer to forward the document for signature to a different email address.

  • Signer Attachments - If you need the signer to upload any documents or images during signing (such as a copy of a driver's license, etc.), you can indicate that here by clicking on Signer Attachments. You can also add Signer Attachments by dragging the corresponding Jotblock onto your document.

5. Once you've clicked the Save Signer button you will see the new signer listed on the right-hand side. You can modify or delete the signer by clicking the ellipses that appear to the right of the signer's name when hovering over it.

Add more signers by clicking the blue plus button beneath existing signers. Each signer added displays with a different background color so that each signer knows the Jotblocks they are responsible for providing information to.
