Previewing forms
You can preview forms to confirm appearance in selected modes for responsive forms or confirm control appearance and behavior on selected devices. No data is saved from submitted preview forms.
To preview the current form in responsive view mode (preview design)
Note: Design preview is available in the responsive designer only.

In the Designer tab of the Forms designer ribbon, either click Preview or click the arrow under Preview and select Preview Design.
View mode buttons are displayed above the form for Smart Phone, Tablet, and Desktop. Click each button to see the form in the related view mode.
To preview the current form (as built at runtime)
- In the Designer tab of the Forms designer ribbon, do one of the following.
- In the classic designer, click Preview.
- In the responsive designer, click the arrow under Preview and then select Preview Runtime.
- In the Preview Settings dialog box, select the device and preview mode.

Click Generate Preview.
A preview window appears, titled with the selected preview mode and device. For example, the title "Edit - Desktop" indicates the Edit preview mode and the Desktop device.
Note:-
To preview a form intended for Nintex Mobile, access the form through Nintex Mobile. The preview is available only to Nintex Mobile for the user who designed the form. The form is published in edit mode under the Preview category. This preview form must be accessed using a Nintex Mobile app. When the preview form is submitted, the form is removed from the Preview category. No data is saved from submission of preview forms. Generating a new preview overwrites the existing preview form.

(Workflow-based subscription licensing only.) The watermark is omitted from preview of development forms.

In the preview window, enter data and manipulate controls as needed for testing.
Data entered into preview forms is not saved, regardless of preview location (Nintex Forms designer or Nintex Mobile app).
- To close a notification in the preview window, click Close for the notification.
- To close the preview window, click Close on the upper right.

Selection | Description |

Specifies a device for preview. Options vary by designer. ![]() Previewed responsive forms are rendered dynamically. The following options are available for preview. You can select any of these options during preview as well.
![]() Previewed classic forms are rendered using device layouts. If no layout exists for the selected device, then one of the existing layouts is used. The following options are available for preview.
