Getting started with forms for Nintex Mobile

Nintex Mobile apps provide offline access to Nintex forms with no requirements for browsers or SharePoint site credentials.

Consider the following guidelines when designing forms for Nintex Mobile.

  • Layouts: Use one of the following form layouts to deliver the form to Nintex Mobile apps.
    • Nintex Mobile Phone
    • Nintex Mobile Tablet

Note: Layout features are available in the classic forms designer only. Responsive forms don't require layouts because they render dynamically.

  • Branding: You can customize Nintex Mobile apps using Nintex App Studio.
  • Category: Assign a category to the form to make it easier to find. Optionally specify other identifiers, such as icon, name, and description.

  • Preview: Note the following guidelines when previewing forms designed for access by Nintex Mobile apps.
    • Device optimization: Because the device used to view the form may optimize the form layout using its native operating system, its rendering may differ significantly from the visual layout in Nintex Forms for Office 365. Consider testing the form layout using expected devices.
    • Orientation: Check the form layout in both portrait and landscape orientation on all devices that you plan to support.
    • Supported functionality: Confirm form behavior. Some functionality available in standard forms may not be supported by Nintex Mobile apps.
  • Publish and deliver: Note the following guidelines for publishing and delivering forms to be accessed by Nintex Mobile apps.
    • Sign-in links: When feasible, provide Nintex Mobile links that pre-populate authentication fields so customers or employees don't have to remember site URLs or any other sign-in information other than passwords. See Building Nintex Mobile links.
    • Sign-in instructions: If not using sign-in links, provide instructions for signing in. Some authentication methods require information beyond credentials. For example, the Office 365 authentication method requires a site URL in addition to credentials.

For sign-in instructions, see the Nintex Mobile help.

For more information about authentication used with Nintex Mobile, see Authentication methods.
