Update List Item

Use the Update list item action A tool for building the processes, logic, and direction within workflows. to change one or more item fields in a list within the current SharePoint site.

You can use the Office 365 update items action if you want to update items in a different SharePoint tenant and site.

Before you start 

Add and configure the Update list item action

  1. Click the Libraries and Lists action group in the action toolbox.


    Type the action name or function in the Search field at the top of the action toolbox.

  2. Drag the Update list item action to the designer canvas.
  3. Do one of the following to open the Action configuration window:

    • Double-click the action.
    • Click on the action and then click Configure.

  4. Select the Target List that contains the item you want to update.
  5. Click Save.
