Zoom Chrome

The Zoom Chrome action changes the zoom setting of Google Chrome.

Tip: We recommend setting the zoom to 100% for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge when using this action.

Note:  You must install the latest version of the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension to use this action. See Nintex RPA Chrome Extension for instructions on how to install the extension.

Using the Zoom Chrome action, you can:

  • Automate the zoom magnification of a web page that is open on a Google Chrome browser.

  • Choose to zoom in or zoom out of the web page.
  • Set a custom zoom setting.

Some examples of target applications for the Zoom Chrome action using the Target Selector Allows you to choose the target element the botflow interacts with, such as a button, text field, or check box. are:

  • Adding the Zoom Chrome action to a botflow to zoom into a web page to get a better view of small text.

  • Adding the Zoom Chrome action to a botflow to zoom out of a web page to see the layout.

Add a Zoom Chrome action to a botflow

This example provides the steps necessary to add a Zoom Chrome action to a botflow.

To add a Zoom Chrome action to a botflow:

  1. Start Google Chrome and go to a website of your choice.

    Note: The Zoom Chrome action will only work your browser tab is on a website.

  2. Drag the Target Selector from the Build Pane Area to add new actions and edit existing actions. The Build Pane displays after you select a targeted element in a Windows application. The center of the Build Pane is referred to as the Task Editor Pane. and drop it onto the title bar of a Google Chrome browser window to display the Target Preview.
  3. The actions list displays.

  4. Select Zoom Chrome from the Browser actions list.
  5. The Action Builder window for Zoom Chrome displays.

  6. Set the Zoom Chrome action setting.
  7. Select the desired zoom setting from the Zoom drop-down list to apply the Google Chrome browser window.

  8. If needed, adjust the Rule settings to modify how Nintex Bot finds the application target.
  9. If needed, adjust the Run error task settings and timing settings to fine tune how the action runs.
  10. Optionally, view the action Details settings.
  11. If needed, adjust the Run Switch setting to create the action without running it.
  12. Optionally, add an action note.
  13. Click OK to add the Zoom Chrome action to the botflow.
