Get List

Using the Get List action, you can get a list:

  • From a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
  • From a table in a Google Chrome browser window.
  • From a table in a Microsoft Internet Explorer browser window.

Some examples of target applications for the Get List action using the Target Selector are:

  • Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Browsers windows.

Add a Get List action to a botflow

This example provides the steps necessary to add a Get List action to a botflow.

To add a Get List action to a botflow:

  1. Drag the Target Selector from the Build Pane Area to add new actions and edit existing actions. The Build Pane displays after you select a targeted element in a Windows application. The center of the Build Pane is referred to as the Task Editor Pane. and drop it onto an application to display the Target Preview.
  2. Select Get List from the Data actions list.
  3. The Get List Action Builder window displays.

  4. Set the Get List settings:
    • List: Enter a name for the list in the List field.
    • Overwrite: Select Overwrite to overwrite a list with the same name.

  5. If needed, adjust the Rule settings to modify how Nintex Bot finds the application target.
  6. If needed, adjust the Run Error Task settings and Timing settings to fine tune how the action runs.
  7. View the action Details settings.
  8. If needed, adjust the Run Switch setting to create the action without running it.
  9. Optionally, add an action note.
  10. Click OK to add the Get List action to the botflow.
