Close Tab

The Close Tab action closes a Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (Chromium based) browser window tab.

Tip: We recommend setting the zoom to 100% for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge when using this action.

Note:  You must install the latest version of the Nintex RPA Chrome Extension to use this action. See Nintex RPA Chrome Extension for instructions on how to install the extension.

Using the Close Tab action, you can close:

  • The tab of your choice located in a browser window.
  • The tab that is currently open in the browser window.

  • The exact tab that you specify (using number of the tab) in the browser window.

  • The last or the first tab in the browser window.

  • The previous or next tab from the tab that is active in the browser window.

For example, you might use the Close Tab action to:

  • Automate closing out multiple tabs in a browser window to keep from cluttering the browser.
  • Closing tabs that you no longer need in the browser window.
