Importing and exporting forms

You can import and export forms as .nfp files. Each .nfp file includes all configured device layouts for the form.

Note: Legacy .xml files can be imported.

Importing and exporting is useful for backing up forms, copying forms from one server to another, and using forms in other SharePoint lists.

Note: Classic and Responsive forms can only be imported into their respective designers. You cannot import a Classic form into the Responsive Forms Designer, or import a Responsive form into the Classic Forms Designer.

When you import a form, you overwrite the current form.

To export a form

  1. Open the form that you want to export by accessing the Nintex Forms designer for the associated list or library.
  2. In the Designer tab of the Forms designer ribbon, click Export.

The browser determines if the site is trusted and then initiates the file download process.

Note: If the file download process does not begin, then the browser may not trust the site. To configure your browser to trust the site, add the Office 365 domain to your trusted sites. Example Office 365 domain: https://*.sharepoint.com

  3. Respond to prompts from the web browser to download and save the form.
