Configuring controls

You can configure controls using the ribbon and using the control settings dialog box.

Note: Incomplete control configuration is indicated by a message at the top of the designer canvas as well as control-specific messages displayed when you hover over the control. Publishing of the form or associated Nintex workflow is not available until required configuration has been completed.

To change settings listed in the ribbon or the Properties pane

  1. Select the control.

The Control Settings tab appears, listing information for the selected control.

  2. To display the Properties pane (if not shown), click Properties in the Designer tab of the Forms designer ribbon.
  3. Change settings as needed.

To open the control settings dialog box for a control, do one of the following

  • Double-click the control.
  • Select the control, then in the Control Settings tab, click More Settings.
  • Classic designer: Right-click the control and then select Settings.

To locate a control listed in the Controls in Use pane (in the Classic Forms designer only)

  • In the pane, select the control.

The appearance of the layout indicates whether or not the selected control is used in the current layout.

If the control is used in the current layout, then grab handles appear around the selected control on the layout.

If the control is not used in the current layout, then its appearance in the pane is dimmed and nothing changes on the layout.
