Sending the document

In this task, the DocuSign send document workflow action is used to send a document to the email address of the attendee, represented by the current item in the sample list.

To configure the workflow to send the document

  1. Add a new Set Workflow Status workflow action to the design canvas, and configure it so that the value of Status is set to "Sending".

  2. Add and configure a new DocuSign send document workflow action.

The DocuSign send document workflow action uses the DocuSign API to create and send a DocuSign envelope for a specified document to a specified recipient by email. The workflow action returns the unique identifier of the DocuSign envelope that contains the specified document, for identification and tracking purposes. In this case, the workflow action creates a new DocuSign envelope for the sample document and sends it to the current attendee from the sample list.

All of the workflow actions for DocuSign Connector are included in the Nintex Live group of the toolbar in the NintexWorkflow designer.

    1. Add the workflow action to the design canvas.

    2. Click the dropdown arrow for the workflow action, and then click Configure.

    3. In the DocuSign Send Document dialog box, perform the following actions:

      1. Set the value of Authorizing user to the AuthorizingUser workflow variable.

      2. In Content to sign, select Existing SharePoint content, and then set the value of the URL to the DocumentToSendURL workflow variable.

      3. Set the value of File name to the FileName workflow variable.

      4. In Recipient email, set the following controls to the specified values:

        Equals List Lookup
        Source Current Item
        Field Attendee Email
      5. Set the value of Recipient name to the Attendee Name item property.

      6. Set the value of Email subject to "Sample NDA"

      7. Set the value of Email message to "Please sign the attached non-disclosure agreement to confirm your attendance."

      8. Set the value of Envelope ID to the EnvelopeID workflow variable.

      9. Click Save.

  3. Add a new Set Workflow Status workflow action to the design canvas, and configure it so that the value of Status is set to "Sent".

  4. Add a new Log to History List workflow action to the design canvas, and configure it so that the value of Message is set to "Envelope ID: ", and then append a reference to the EnvelopeId workflow variable.

In other words, the value of Message should resemble the following example:

    Envelope ID: {Variable:EnvelopeId}
