Actions are the steps an agentflow performs to complete a process. After you configure the start variables, if desired, add actions to define what the agentflow should do. An agentflow can include multiple actions as required. Actions execute sequentially unless configured to run in parallel.
An agentflow action is either a core or connector action.
-
Core action: An agentflow action that performs a basic function, such as assigning a task or setting a variable value. Most core actions operate without connecting to an external system and don't require a connection Credentials and other settings that enables workflows to communicate with external systems, services, or applications. It's required to pass data between the workflow and the indicated service, which could be a cloud service, business application, or content store..
-
Connector action: An agentflow action that interacts with a third-party application, such as adding a record or retrieving a file from Salesforce or Box. When configuring a connector action, you must create a connection to connect the agentflow action to a third-party application. For information about creating connections, see Add a connection.
All actions must be configured before you publish the agentflow. If an action is not fully configured, an error is displayed when you attempt to publish. Unconfigured actions are indicated by an icon next to the action name.
After the action is completely configured it will be displayed as below:
All the available actions are grouped into different categories in the actions toolbox. Core actions are grouped into the following categories:
| Action group | Description |
|---|---|
| Agentflow actions | Configure and run agents, assign tasks to users, or call another agentflow. |
| Logic and flow actions | Direct the execution path of the agentflow, including branching, stages, loops, and parallel paths. |
| Operations actions | Manage variables, update instance details, and log information during execution. |
