Troubleshooting Internet Explorer Issues

This section covers common issues you may encounter with Internet Explorer and recommended resolutions.

Issue:

When opening the Designer or trying to edit your SmartForms, you may encounter the infinite spinner. Confirm this is the issue by pressing F12 to open the developer tools window and check the Console output for the 'XPathResult' is undefined script error.

Resolution:

To resolve the issue follow these steps:

  1. Open Internet Options
  2. Select the Security tab and Internet zone
  3. Click the Custom Level ... button in the Security level for this zone section
  4. Scroll down to the ActiveX section and enable the Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins and Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting settings:
  5. Reload the Designer
