LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)

LDAP is a protocol for communicating with identity stores which includes Windows Active Directory. The LDAP user manager is designed for LDAP-compatible systems with protocol version 3 or higher. One such system is OpenLDAP. For information on configuring OpenLDAP for use with the product, see the KB article: KB001329. For more information on User Managers in the product, see the topic Introduction to User Managers.

The system expects the LDAP user manager to be configurable for any LDAP-compatible system with protocol version 3 or higher. However, only Microsoft’s Active Directory has been tested by us.

For more information on preparing to use LDAP with the product, see LDAP User Manager Preparation.
