Import and export UDAs

This topic describes how to import and export UDAs.

Note: Only site administrators, site collection administrators, and farm administrators can manage UDAs.

To export a User Defined Action (UDA)

  1. Access UDAs for the desired level.
    1. To access UDAs for the site or site collection: From the Workflow Gallery, click the Nintex Workflow options drop down, and select User Defined Actions (UDAs) If needed, click Switch to site collection level settings.

    2. To access UDAs for the farm: On the Central Administration Home page, click Nintex Administration and then click User Defined Actions (UDAs) under Workflow environment.
  2. Select the row containing the User Defined Action (UDA) and then click Export.

The browser file download process is triggered. Follow the standard procedure for your browser to download and save the file.

To import a User Defined Action (UDA)

Note: UDAs containing disallowed actions will still run; however, UDAs can only be imported by users with rights to use all contained actions.

  2. Click Import.
  3. In the Import a User Defined Action dialog box, click Browse, select the User Defined Action (UDA) (*.uda file), and then click Import.

Note: A User Defined Action (UDA) has a unique GUID ID. When importing a UDA, if the UDA has the same name but a different unique GUID ID, the UDA can be imported; however, if the UDA has been renamed and an existing UDA with the same GUID ID exists, you are prompted with options to overwrite or create a new UDA.

  4. In the settings page, click Publish.

The imported User Defined Action (UDA) is now listed.
