Searches for the latest news based on a specified query.

Action settings

Following are the fields and options visible in the configuration settings dialog box for this action.

Field Description
Search for The text to search for.
Output

Store output for this action using the following selections.

  • Headline: Collection workflow variable to store the headline of the news.
  • Snippet: Collection workflow variable to store the representative sample of the news.
  • URL: The URL of the website the news is from.
  • Result count: Total number of results returned.
  • Date: Collection workflow variable to store the date when the news item was added to the Bing Search database.
  • Source: Collection workflow variable to store the source of the news.

Depending on action requirements, you may be able to add and remove output variables.

To add an output variable

  1. Select an option from the Select more drop-down list.
  2. Click Add to display a drop-down list for the selected option.
  3. Select a previously defined workflow variable from the drop-down list.

To remove an output variable

  • Click Delete ().

    Note: Some output variables cannot be deleted. For example, the output variable URL for the action Bing news search cannot be deleted.
