Bing get directions

Gets driving, transit, or walking directions between two locations using Bing.

Note: Some features and functionality may not be available in certain regions.

Action settings

Following are the fields and options visible in the configuration settings dialog box for this action.

Field Description
Origin

Specify the origin business, address, or landmark.

Destination

Specify the destination business, address, or landmark.

Unit of distance

Specify the unit of measurement to be used for distances.

  • mi: Miles
  • km: Kilometers
Roundtrip

Specify whether or not to get directions for the return trip.

Note: Roundtrip directions are not supported for travel by transit.

Mode of travel

Select a travel mode to use for the directions.

  • Driving
  • Transit
  • Walking
Departure time

Specify a departure time. Required if Transit is selected for Mode of travel.

Output

Store output for this action using the following selections.

  • Distance: Specify a workflow variable to store the distance from the origin to the destination.
  • Duration: Specify a workflow variable to store the amount of time it will take to travel from the origin to the destination.
  • Directions: Specify a workflow variable to store the directions from the origin to the destination.
  • Map: Select a location to which to save the JPEG image of the travel route.
    • Current item attachment (option available for workflows associated with lists): Attaches the image to the list item that the workflow is running on.

    • URL: Saves the image to the specified URL. Enter a server-relative URL to a document library within the current site. Include filename and extension.

    • Overwrite current item (option available for workflows associated with document libraries): Overwrites the current item that the workflow is running on.
