Use document sets
You can use document sets in SharePoint document libraries. Before doing so, you must activate the Document Sets feature for the site collection and add the document set functionality to a document library.
To activate the Document Sets feature for the site collection
- On the upper right of the screen in SharePoint Online, click the Settings menu () and then click Site settings.
- Under Site Collection Administration, click Site Collection Features.
- Click Activate for Document Sets.
To add the document set functionality to a document library
- In the Library tab of the ribbon, click Library Settings.
- On the Library Settings page, under General Settings, click Advanced Settings.
- In the Content Types section, select Yes for Allow management of content types? and then click OK.
- On the Library Settings page, under Content Types, click Add from existing site content types.
- For Select site content types from, select All Groups.
- For Available Site Content Types, select Document Set and then click Add.
