Look up Active Directory information
This topic describes how to look up Active Directory information for use in workflow actions.
Active Directory information is used for LDAP paths, LCS/OCS home servers, and mailbox containers.
To look up Active Directory information
-
In the action configuration settings dialog box, click (Active Directory).
Depending on the associated field, one of the following dialog boxes appears for looking up Active Directory information: LDAP Picker, Home Server Picker, or Select Mail Store.
The system attempts to connect to Active Directory using the information entered in the associated field. If the associated field is for an LCS or OCS home server, then the system also attempts to find "LC Services" folders; for a mailbox container, the system attempts to find "Mailbox Database" folders. An error is displayed if further credentials are required.
This icon is available for related actions, such as Query LDAP, Create AD user, Enable Lync / OCS, and Provision User In Exchange.
-
Click the Active Directory object that you want.
Tip: For an LCS or OCS home server, look for an "LC Services" object. For a mailbox container, look for a "Mailbox Database" object under a "Storage Group" object.
- To update the credentials, do one of the following.
- Enter a username and password.
- Click Select credentials () to insert a credential constant. For more information, see Insert workflow constants.
-
Click Close to save changes and close the dialog box.
The LDAP path for the selected object is inserted into the associated field within the action configuration settings dialog box.
