Approving, rejecting, and viewing tasks

This topic describes how to view and process assigned tasks.

When user interaction tasks are created as part of a workflow, tasks are assigned and notification messages are sent at runtime.

To view the tasks assigned to the current user

To process an assigned task, do one of the following

  1. Open the Approve Reject page for the task by doing one of the following.

    The Approve Reject page appears.

  2. Fill in the fields as needed.

    Use this selection for approving or rejecting the selected item.

    Depending on action configuration, users may be able to delegate tasks. For more information, see Delegating approval tasks.

    Note: When a task is generated by the 'Request approval' action, the user can choose to approve or reject the item in the workflow. The selection made will determine the path followed by the workflow. When a task is generated by the 'Request review' action, there is no response to process as the item is deemed satisfactory when the user is finished with it.

    Comment

    Use this field to enter any comments about why the item was approved or rejected.

    Item Properties

    Use this selection to view meta data and field values related to the selected item.

    To view the full item details, click the hyperlink next to the Item property heading. Similarly, to view the status of the workflow graphically, click View.

    The task view page displays the fields configured in the task form properties view. For more information, see Configure task settings.
