Use section repetition

Nintex external platform is required for this feature. For details, see Enable Nintex external platform features.

This topic describes how to use section repetition with table data.

Section repetition uses the Microsoft Word Rich Text Content Control and collection variables to repeat data in new sections. Supported format: .docx only.

To use section repetition

  1. In the Document Generation action, in a new table, select Section for Repeated format type.

For information on how to add a table, see Add tables.

  2. Open the Nintex Document Tagger: In the Document Generation action, select the template you want and then click Open and tag.

  3. Enable the Developer tab in Microsoft Word.

For information on enabling the Developer tab, see the Microsoft article Show the Developer tab.

  4. In the template, insert Rich Text Content Control from the Developer tab in the ribbon.

For additional information, see the Microsoft article Content controls.

  5. In the Nintex Document Tagger, expand the subsection for a table to see its available tags.

  6. Under Table Start Tag, to the right of the start tag, click the icon and then click Copy.

The start tag indicates where the repeated format begins. For information on tagging, see Tag templates.

  7. With Rich Text Content Control highlighted, click Properties under the Developer tab in the ribbon.

  8. In the Content Control Properties window, enter the selection name in the Title field, and then paste the copied start tag in the Tag field.

  9. Close the Content Control Properties window.

  10. In the template, put your cursor in the Rich Text Content Control section, and then insert tags from Table Column Tags.

When the workflow generates documents from the tagged templates, the tagged data appears in new sections.
