Creates a site within a SharePoint Online site collection.

Action settings

Following are the fields and options visible in the configuration settings dialog box for this action.

Section Field Description

Title

Specify the title of the site.

 

Description

Specify the description of the site.

 

Inherit permissions

Specify whether to inherit permissions from the parent site. If not inhering permissions from the parent site, specify site owners.

 

Site owner

Specify the site owners when not inheriting permissions.

Use semicolons to separate owners. Example: user1; user2

 

Parent site URL

The URL of the parent site where the site will be created. Example:  https://crestan.sharepoint.com/Departments/

 

Site name

Specify the site name.

For example, to create a marketing site, specify "Marketing" as the site name. The expected result for the site URL is https://crestan.sharepoint.com/Departments/Marketing.

 

Language

Specify the language for the site.

 

Template

Specify the site template to use.

 

Custom template name

Specify the name of the custom template. Saved custom templates are visible in the solution gallery (Site Settings > Solutions).

Note: Only applicable when template is selected as custom.

 

Use top link bar from the parent site

Specify whether this site will have its own top link bar or use the one from its parent.

Credentials

SharePoint Online URL

Specify the SharePoint Online website domain URL. Example: http://targetdomain.sharepoint.com.

 

Username

Specify a username with permissions to create the site.

 

Password

Specify the password for the above username.

Output

Store output for this action using the following selections.

  • Site creation successful: Specify a Yes/No variable to store whether or not the creation of the site was successful. Returns "Yes" if the site was successfully created.
  • Site URL: Specify a workflow variable to store the URL of the new site.
