Properties pane

The Properties pane can be displayed on the right of the Nintex Forms designer.

Use this pane to work with form design and individual control settings. Form design varies by designer. Responsive forms use themes while classic forms use layouts.

In the Responsive Forms Designer

Use this pane to create a universal look for your form, and change individual control settings.

The Properties pane contains the following sections:

Use themes to control the font and color scheme of your form.

  1. Click the drop-down arrow next to the color swatch.

    The color picker appears.

  2. You can either:
    • Select a hue using the bar at the bottom and click the shade you want.
    • Type or paste a hexadecimal RGB color value into the field at the top.
  3. Click Apply.

Global styles

Use these styles to create a uniform look for your form.

Primary

Click the drop-down to select a new color for primary controls like Save buttons.

Click the drop-down to select a new color for secondary controls like Cancel buttons.

Click the drop-down to select a new color for the background behind the form.

Click the drop-down to select a new color for the background of the form.

Fonts

  

Select the font for all text in the form.
 

Text

Click the drop-down to select a new color for the text in the form.
 

Title/input size

Select the size of control titles and input text.

 

Description size

Select the size of description text.
Advanced styles   Click to open the Advanced styles section to design colors for input controls and buttons.

Advanced styles

Use these styles to create a uniform look for all your buttons and controls.

Note: These settings apply to all buttons and controls on your form. You cannot control the style of individual controls or buttons in the Responsive Forms Designer.

Input style Input Border Click the drop-down to select a new color for the borders of input controls.
  Input background Click the drop-down to select a new color for the background of input controls.
  Input font Click the drop-down to select a new color for the font of input controls.
Buttons Primary Click the drop-down to select a new color for primary buttons like Save.
  Primary font Click the drop-down to select a new color for the font in primary buttons like Save.
  Secondary Click the drop-down to select a new color for secondary buttons like Cancel.
  Secondary font Click the drop-down to select a new color for the font in secondary buttons like Cancel.
Reset to global styles   Click to reset the advanced settings to the colors of the global style.

This section only appears when a control is selected. It displays settings for the selected control.

  Description The text to display with the control as a description or instruction.

More Settings   Click to open the Control Settings for this control.

In the Classic Forms Designer

Use this pane to work with layouts and control settings.

The Properties pane contains the following sections.

The Layout section allows you to create, manage and switch between layouts.

Field

Description
Layouts

Displays the layouts available for this form. The currently selected layout is highlighted.

Click on another layout to switch to it.

Add more Layouts

Click to add another layout to this form.

Layout Settings

Click to open the Layout settings for this layout.

Replace with Layout

Click to replace the currently selected layout with another existing layout.

All controls and settings for the current layout will be discarded.
Delete Layout Click to delete this layout.

This section only appears when a control is selected. It displays settings for the selected control.

Formatting Control CSS class The CSS class to apply to the control's inner elements.

  Padding Width (Pixels) The CSS padding (in pixels) to apply to the control.
