Associate templates to device layouts
A template is a form export file (.xml) that is used to apply default settings for newly created forms. You can import templates for both the Classic and Responsive Forms designer.
A template is applied to all forms created in the Responsive Forms designer.
Note: You can only import a Responsive form definition as a Responsive forms template.
To upload a template
- On the SharePoint Central Administration Home page, click Nintex Administration.
- On the Nintex Administration page, select Responsive Forms template.
- In the Templates section, click the Browse button.
- Navigate to the saved form export file (xml), select the file, and click Open.
- Click the Upload button.
Once a template has been uploaded, the template that was found within the form export file is listed below the Browse button.
To deactivate a template, press the Remove button.
Note: Only one template may be applied for the farm. Uploading a template file will clear all existing templates and apply only the layouts found in the most recent file uploaded.
The following items are all included as part of the template:
- All controls that are on the layouts
- Custom theme selections
A template will be added for each layout in the exported form definition. For example: A form is exported with a Default layout, iPad layout and a Smart Phone layout. Whenever one of these three layouts are created, the template settings will be applied.
Note: You can only import a Classic forms definition into the Classic Forms Layouts.
