Run Now dialog box

Some controls such as Web request allow you to test configuration settings without previewing or publishing the form by using the Run Now dialog box.

Note: Run Now is not a simulation. Any executions such as create, query, update, and delete are committed when executing Run Now.

By default, the Run Now dialog box does the following:

• Automatically replaces any tokens with a value if possible
• Evaluates any inline functions in the control when the configuration is executed

To access the Run Now dialog box for a control

• Click Run Now in the control ribbon. The Run Now dialog box shows the current configuration of the control. You can temporarily change the configuration before testing it.

To update configuration settings for the test

• Modify settings (parameter values) as desired. The updated parameter values are not saved when you close the Run Now dialog box.

To test current configuration settings

• Click the associated test button. For example, click Execute Test.

The following table describes the settings available in the Run Now dialog box for all controls.

Note: Settings not detailed here reflect the available configuration settings of the control from which the Run Now dialog box was accessed.

Selection	Description
Execute Test	Verifies connection to an external system using the current configuration settings.
​Test Result	​Displays the output of the executed test.​
Execute ​XPath Test	​Verifies XPath configuration for a connection to an external system using the current configuration settings.
​XPath Test Result	Displays the output of the executed XPath test.​
