Microsoft Azure retrieve image

Nintex external platform is required for this feature. For details, see Enable Nintex external platform features.

Retrieves the virtual machine images that are associated with a subscription in Microsoft Azure. The retrieved images can be used for creating a virtual machine using the Microsoft Azure create virtual machine.

Note: Microsoft Azure actions are supported for use with Azure Classic Portal only (manage.windowsazure.com).

Action settings

Following are the fields and options visible in the configuration settings dialog box for this action.

Field Description
Certificate

Specify the certificate file (.pfx) to be used for authenticating the service request. This certificate must be associated with the Microsoft Azure subscription.

  • Existing SharePoint Content: Enter the URL of the certificate within the current site.
  • Content: This is currently not supported.
  • Current item: Upload the current certificate that the workflow is running on. This option is only available on document libraries.
Certificate password

Specify the password for the certificate.
Subscription ID

Specify the subscription ID associated with the certificate.

Output

Store output for this action using the following selections.

  • Category: Specify a collection variable to store the repository classification of the image. All user images have the category User.
  • Label: Specify a collection variable to store the identifier for the image.
  • Location: Specify a collection variable to store the location of this media. The value is derived from a storage account that contains the blob in which the media is located. The value will be empty if the storage account belongs to an affinity group.
  • Logical size (GB): Specify a collection variable to store the size (GB) of the image.
  • Name: Specify a collection variable to store the name of the operating system image. This is the name that is used when creating one or more virtual machines using the image.
  • Operating system: Specify a collection variable to store the operating system type of the image.
  • End User License Agreement (EULA): Specify a collection variable to store the URL to the End User License Agreement associated with the image.
  • Description: Specify a collection variable to store the description of the image.
  • Image family: Specify a collection variable to store the group of the image.
  • Published date: Specify a collection variable to store the date when the image was added to the repository.
  • Is premium: Specify a collection variable to store whether the image contains software or associated services that will incur charges above the core price for the virtual machine.
  • Privacy URI: Specify a collection variable to store the URI to the privacy policy related to the image.
  • Recommended VM size: Specify a collection variable to store the size to use for the virtual machine that is created from the image.
  • Publisher name: Specify a collection variable to store the name of the publisher of the image. All user images have a publisher name of User.
  • Show in GUI: Specify a collection variable to store the whether the image is shown in Graphical User Interface (GUI).
  • Pricing detail URL: Specify a collection variable to store the URL for the image with Is premium set to true, which contains the pricing details for a virtual machine that is created from the image.
  • Icon URI: Specify a collection variable to store the URI to the icon that is displayed when the image is presented in the Microsoft Azure Management Portal.
  • Small icon URI: Specify a collection variable to store the URI to the small icon that is displayed when the image is presented in the Microsoft Azure Management Portal.
  • Affinity group: Specify a collection variable to store the affinity group where the media is located. The value is derived from the storage account that contains the blob in which the media is located. If the storage account does not belong to an affinity group the value is empty and the element is not displayed in the response. This value is empty for platform images.
  • Media link: Specify a collection variable to store the location of the blob in Microsoft Azure storage. The blob location belongs to a storage account in the subscription specified by the <subscription-id> value in the operation call.
  • Language: Specify a collection variable to store the language of the image.
  • Results in XML: Specify a text variable to store the properties of the retrieved virtual machine images in XML format.
  • Total result: Specify a number variable to store the total number of virtual machine images retrieved.

Depending on action requirements, you may be able to add and remove output variables.

To add an output variable

  1. Select an option from the Select more drop-down list.
  2. Click Add to display a drop-down list for the selected option.
  3. Select a previously defined workflow variable from the drop-down list.

To remove an output variable

  • Click Delete ().

    Note: Some output variables cannot be deleted. For example, the output variable URL for the action Bing news search cannot be deleted.
