Removing K2 artifacts and integration from SharePoint

Deleting K2 artifacts and uninstalling K2 for SharePoint from your environment removes K2 artifacts from within SharePoint. You want to be sure that all SmartObjects, views, Forms, and service instances are completely removed from the K2 environment and that there are no orphaned artifacts. This topic explains the best practice when removing K2 artifacts to ensure that all elements are removed and are no longer visible in the database, K2 Workspace, K2 Management, and in the category tree.

Removing K2 artifacts and K2 for SharePoint from SharePoint

Follow these steps to remove K2 artifacts and the K2 for SharePoint app.

  1. On every list and library that contain K2 artifacts, perform steps 2 through 4.
  2. Open the K2 application and click Delete All.
  3. Select the Historical log data check box and click OK.

    If you don't have a workflow in your K2 application, the following page is displayed when you click Delete All.

  4. The K2 artifacts are deleted.
  5. Go to your App Catalog and open the K2 Five for SharePoint app in the Site Contents.
  6. Click Manage App Activations.
  7. Select the site collection on the Site Collections section and click Uninstall.
  8. On the Confirmation page, click OK.
  9. Once the uninstall is complete, click Close and then Close again.
  10. On the K2 application page, click Manage App Deployments (SharePoint).
  11. On the Managed Paths section, select the (All Paths) option and click Remove.
  12. The (All Paths) option is removed, click Close.
  13. Click Trust It.
  14. Open the Site Contents, select the K2 for SharePoint App. Click the ellipsis and click Remove.
  15. Click OK.
  16. Open the Recycle Bin page in the App Catalog, select the app and click Delete Selection.
  17. Click OK.
  18. Go to the Site Settings of the App Catalog and click Recycle Bin.
  19. On the Site Settings > Recycle Bin page click second-stage recycle bin.
  20. On the Recycle Bin > Second - Stage Recycle Bin page, select the app and click Delete Selection.
  21. Click OK.
  22. K2 for SharePoint and K2 Artifacts are removed from your environment.

Leftover Artifacts

Once you have removed K2 for SharePoint as per the steps above, the following leftover artifacts remain:
