K2 Server Configuration

You need to perform some configuration on the K2 server to get the best performance out of it. There are several components within the K2 environment that need configuration. This section provides configuration information on the following:

Configure	Description
Auditing and Logging	K2 has logging and auditing features that lets administrators monitor and troubleshoot the K2 environment. System Event Logging starts automatically at installation and is active through to runtime. System auditing features are started manually by the developer, per individual process at design time, and leveraged during runtime.
SmartObject Services	SmartObject services are configured manually, the configuration steps are detailed in the K2 User Guide SmartObject Services topics.
Customizing SmartActions	Once K2 SmartActions are installed, configure the messaging customization for the K2 Server. All messaging is managed in the K2 Server configuration file.
Manual Email Configuration	Additional setup is required for messaging protocols to be SmartActions enabled.
Customizing Email Security	These settings are configurable by the K2 Administrator using settings in the K2HostServer.exe.config file.
K2 Server Identity Cache Performance	You can configure settings to optimize the Identity cache performance for the K2 Server.
K2 Service Startup	Improve the K2 Service startup time.
Environment Libraries	Configure the environment libraries connection strings to point to the correct environments such as Production and Development.
