K2 BLACKPEARL PRODUCT DOCUMENTATION: USER GUIDE
Sentence Parsing

Sentence Parsing

The sentence parsing feature enables the end user to respond to an e-mail using pseudo normal language and the K2 Server will respond to the e-mail in the same manner as if only an action word had been in the email. Sentence parsing does however have a few limitations which the end user must be aware of to ensure that the email can be actioned by the K2 Server. Sentence parsing is a more familiar way for end users to respond to an email as if they were responding to a person as opposed to an automated system.

The K2 Server will read the first line of text which precedes the first line break i.e. when the enter key creates a line break. If no configuredAction or StandardAction Keywords are found within that scope, the server will respond with an error message.

Parsing Examples

Shown below are two examples of sentence parsing. In both cases the end user sends a response to the K2 Server containing the word approved. The configuredAction word must be contained within a line of text before a line break (i.e. before the end user types Enter). This is demonstrated by comparison between the two examples. The option on the left will not process successfully owing to the formatting but the example on the right will be accepted and processed.
