With Use Native SQL Execution set to True and On Different SQL Server set to False the following will occur:
When Native SQL execution is set to True K2 executes the List method from within the context of the K2 SmartBroker database. The SQL server service does not execute against the physical SQL database but rather sends the SQL query to the SmartObject server where it is then executed from within the SmartBroker Database.
This relies entirely on the filtering and query structure capabilities of service objects and allows for complex ADO.NET provider queries.
In this scenario the server name will not be appended in the query and the sp_addlinkedserver will not be executed.
