When to use K2 SmartActions
K2 SmartActions represents an alternative way to action task list items. Users do not have to use their task list or a form to action a task as long as the process designer has specified that an action can be taken without opening the form.
K2 SmartActions Supported Protocols
The following messaging protocols are supported by K2 SmartActions:

Existing Process Integration
Existing projects will need to be re-deployed, and some minor changes will need to be made to the process. If there is a user form it can be made available concurrently with K2 SmartActions. K2 SmartActions is a messaging technology which enables the developer to deploy processes to production systems such that the Information worker does not require access to K2 Workspace.
New Processes
When creating new projects, K2 SmartActions development requirements integrate seamlessly with the existing methodology of process authoring.
