Forms Generation Client Event - Overview
What is a user page?
A user page is a web page or form that is used by an end-user. A page enables interaction between the user who actions a task and the K2 environment which is invisible to the user. Generally a user orientated task requires a page to interact with the system. This means that every logical step within the process that requires user-to-system interaction will require a page.

Source Files for the pages are only compiled when the Deployment Package is used to export the user page to the K2 Server. This ensures that last minute changes can be made to the page before deployment. |
Important Considerations:
To successfully deploy a process containing pages created by the Forms Generation Client Event Wizard, the deployment should occur on the servers which have K2 Workspace components installed as well as the following prerequisites:
• Windows SDK version 7.1
• Web Deployment Projects 2010
To use 'Generate ASP Pages' you need to install Visual Studio Web Deployment Projects 2010. The following steps must be followed:
- Install Visual Studio 2010 (Only "Visual Web Developer" needs to be selected in a custom install)
- Install Visual Studio 2010 Web Deployment Projects
- Install K2 Designer for Visual Studio 2010 (rerun K2 setup)
Repeating nodes cannot be used with the Forms Generation Client Event Wizard.
IIS needs to be installed on the K2 Workspace machine to ensure the successful use of the Forms Generation Client Event Wizard.
When deploying a WFI forms generated process to SharePoint that utilizes a WFI form generation client event, a corresponding Task Content Type is created on the SharePoint site. If this process is to be used on any other site besides the one that is was deployed to, the workflow creator needs to target that site in the wizard and redeploy the process. This will ensure that the Task Content Type is created on the new site.
