Next release testing

Nintex DocGen is updated regularly. Nintex DocGen provides a next release testing environment so that you can test your DocGen Packages A customizable package that consists of your Salesforce data, documents, and delivery configurations for documents you want to generate.. You have the ability to add or remove users who can test DocGen Package in the next release environment. The Run Test button in your DocGen Package allows you to compare the output from the next release environment to your output from a live environment.

Important: It is highly recommended that you test your DocGen Packages on the next release environment.

Assign users for the next release environment

To test DocGen Packages on the next release environment, you must assign users as testers. This is the only way that a user can see the Run Test button.

  1. Click the Nintex Admin tab.

    The Nintex Admin Home left navigation displays.

  1. Under Users, click Test User Configuration.
  2. Under Profiles, select a profile you want to grant next release access to.
  3. In Available Users, select the user(s).
  4. Highlight the user(s) and click Add Tester.

    The user is added and has permission to generate documents on the next release environment.

Remove users from the next release environment

  1. Click the Nintex Admin tab.

    The Nintex Admin Home left navigation displays.

  1. Under Users, click Test User Configuration.
  2. In Next Release Test Users box, select the user(s) and click Remove Tester.

    The user is removed and denied permission to generate documents on the next release environment.

Run test DocGen Packages in the next release environment

  1. Create a DocGen Package or edit an existing DocGen Package. For more information on how to create a DocGen Package, see DocGen Packages.
  2. Use the DocGen Package Tester and click Run Test.

Note: If you don't see the Run Test button in your DocGen Package Tester, you might not have the correct permissions to test DocGen Packages.

Check the Remote Site settings to ensure Nintex DocGen is active.

Check Remote Site settings

  1. From Setup, enter Remote Site Settings in the Quick Find box, then click Remote Site Settings to display a list of Web addresses in your org.

  2. Find the rows with DocGenReleaseCandidate and DrawloopReleaseCandidate under Remote Site Name, and select Active for both.
