In-Person signing

The in-person signing feature allows you to set up a delivery option for signers to sign a document in person. For example, you can prepare a document for signature on-site and then hand the device to the signer for their signature. In this scenario, the in-person signer immediately signs the document and will not receive an email invitation to sign.

It is also possible to mix in-person signing with remote signing. For example, if an in-person signer should sign first, and then a second signer should be sent an email invitation, you may construct the workflow so that the in-person signer is not sent an invitation to sign while the other signer receives an email invitation.

Enable in-person signing

  1. Navigate to the DocGen Package for which you want to enable in-person signing.

  2. Click on the Delivery section of the DocGen Package.

  3. Click the Delivery Options tab.

  4. In the Nintex eSign Delivery Option, under Signing Options, select the checkbox to Enable In-Person Signing.

Use in-person signing

If in-person signing is enabled, you will see a note on the Delivery Option before running the DocGen Package that this Envelope uses in-person signing.

  1. Run the DocGen Package.

  2. Click Send to eSign.

  3. Navigate to the Nintex eSign Envelopes.

  4. Click on the Nintex eSign Envelope record that is created in Salesforce (you may need to refresh the Nintex eSign Envelopes to see this).

  5. Click Sign in the In-Person Signing component.

Note: The In-Person Signing component is not available in the Salesforce layout by default. To add it, click on the Settings gear icon at the top right of the toolbar, click Edit Page, and then drag and drop the component into the layout.

  6. Select the checkbox to agree to the signing terms and conditions.

  7. Click Start Signing.

  8. In the Adopt a Signature modal, select a signature option (Typed with a keyboard or Drawn with touch, mouse, or stylus) and either type or draw your signature.

  9. Click Adopt Signature.

  10. Click Apply Signature.

  11. Click Finish.

For multiple signers, the In-Person Signing component will always display the current signer. After the first signer has signed the document, refresh the In-Person Signing component in Salesforce and repeat the signature process until all signatures are applied.
