Relationships from Other Objects
Use Relationships from Other Objects (formerly known as Top Level relationships) to display all the data from another standard object Objects that are in a Salesforce org by default e.g. Account, Contact, Lead, Opportunity. in your DocGen Package.
You can use the Field Tagger A tool that displays tags for your template based on the object you're working with and easily inserts the field tags into your templates for your DocGen Package. to place additional tags A prefilled word block that DocGen selects for fields in your DocGen Package. The tag is a placeholder for the value being retrieved from Salesforce and it gets replaced with the relevant information when the document is generated. from Other Objects into your DocGen Packages.
Important: To view Relationships from Other Objects in your documents, you must run your DocGen Package from a Button as Relationships from Other Objects are not currently supported in the Lightning Component.
Create a relationship for your other object from a New DocGen Package
- Navigate to the App Launcher by selecting the in the upper left corner, select Nintex DocGen.
- Select the DocGen Packages tab.
- Click New.
- Type in the DocGen Package details and select your Starting Object.
- Click Save.
Nintex DocGen will automatically add in the Starting Object and any child relationship if it's associated with the object in the Relationships section. This can't be edited unless a different object is selected.
- If there is a Relationship from Other Object already associated with the starting object, Nintex DocGen will automatically add it to the relationships section of your DocGen Package.
- If there is no Relationship from Other Object associated, you can add one by following the steps below.
- Open the DocGen Package you want to add the relationship to other object to.
From the Data Tab, access the Relationships window.
- In the Add Relationships section of the window, click Relationship from Other Object.
- Select the object you want to add.
- Click Save.
Create a relationship for your other object from an Existing DocGen Package
- Navigate to the App Launcher by selecting the in the upper left corner, select Nintex DocGen.
- Select the DocGen Packages tab.
- Select and open the DocGen Package you want to work with.
- From the Data Tab, access the Relationships window.

In the Add Relationships section of the window, click Relationship from Other Object.
- Select the object you want to add.
- Click Save.
You have the option of adding a Child A relationship between two objects established by a lookup or a master-detail field. or Lookup Salesforce says, "A relationship between two records so you can associate records with each other." relationship to your Relationships from Other Objects as well.

In the Relationships from Other Objects section, select the drop down arrow from the object and click Add Child +.
- Select the Object you want to use for the child relationship.

In the Repeat By field, you can select:
- None: Always available and resets the user interface.
- Lookup from what you have: This option is only available if the object you selected includes a lookup. For more information, see How to add tags from a lookup relationship.
- This field is optional. In Alias, type in a short name or keyword that will differentiate a relationship to identify the tags from that relationship in the Field Tagger.
- In the Repeat By field, you have the following options:
Repeat By OptionsSection Copies a specific section in your document that has unique data. Table Copies tables. Each table has unique data. Row Copies rows that have unique data in each row. Group Duplicates tables that are grouped by field type. Hierarchy Creates slides with a hierarchy of relationships based on field type. The Default value is row.
- Click Save.
- In the Relationships from Other Objects section, select the drop down arrow from the object and click Add Lookup +.
- Select the Object you want use for the lookup relationship.
- Click Save.
