Set up relationships from other objects in DocGen Packages
You can use the Relationships from Other Objects option to include data from another standard object Objects that are in a Salesforce org by default e.g. Account, Contact, Lead, Opportunity. in your DocGen Package. To add additional fields from those objects, use the Field Tagger A tool that displays tags for your template based on the object you're working with and easily inserts the field tags into your templates for your DocGen Package. to place tags A prefilled word block that DocGen selects for fields in your DocGen Package. The tag is a placeholder for the value being retrieved from Salesforce and it gets replaced with the relevant information when the document is generated. in your DocGen Package. For more information, see Tag Documents.
Important: To view relationships from other objects in your documents, you must run your DocGen Package as this option is not currently supported in the Lightning component. For more information on running a DocGen Package, see Nintex DocGen for Salesforce - Run DocGen Package.
Create a relationship from another object for a new DocGen Package
- Navigate to the App Launcher by selecting
in the upper left corner and select Nintex DocGen. - Select the DocGen Packages tab.
- Click New.
- Type in the DocGen Package details and select your Starting Object.
- Click Save.

Add a Relationship from another object.
If a relationship already exists between the starting object and another object, Nintex DocGen automatically adds it to the Relationships section of your DocGen Package.
If no relationship exists, you can add one by following the steps below.

Click the Data tab.

In the Relationships from Other Objects section, click the drop-down and select Add Relationship from Other Object.

Select an object you want to add.

Click Save.

Nintex DocGen automatically adds the Starting Object and any child relationships associated with the object in to the Relationships section. This can't be edited unless a different object is selected.
Create a relationship from another object for an existing DocGen Package

Open a DocGen Package.

Click the Data tab.

In the Relationships from Other Objects section, click the drop-down and select Add Relationship from Other Object.
- Select the object you want to add.
- Click Save.
You also have the option of adding a Child A relationship between two objects established by a lookup or a master-detail field. or Lookup Salesforce says, "A relationship between two records so you can associate records with each other." relationship to your Relationships from Other Objects.

In the Relationships from Other Objects section, select
from the object and click Add Child +. -
Select the object you want to use for the child relationship.

In the Related By field, you can select Parent Account ID or Master Record ID.
- This field is optional. In Alias, type in a short name or keyword that will differentiate a relationship to identify the tags from that relationship in the Field Tagger.
- In the Repeat By field, you have the following options:
- Click Save.
Repeat By Options
Section Copies a specific section in your document that has unique data. Table Copies tables. Each table has unique data. Row Copies rows that have unique data in each row. Group Duplicates tables that are grouped by field type. Hierarchy Creates slides with a hierarchy of relationships based on field type.
You can also use the + Add Filter and + Add Sort Order options to add filters and sort the order of your selected fields. This is dependent on the Starting Object you choose.
- In the Relationships from Other Objects section, select
from the object and click Add Lookup +. - Select the object you want to use for the lookup relationship.
- Click Save.
