Merge Fields Overview
Nintex eSign supports the concept of merge fields which may be used to populate email notifications, DocumentTRAK notifications, or JotBlocks with document/envelope-specific data. There are two primary categories of merge fields in Nintex eSign:
-
Globally defined merge fields
-
Template-specific merge fields
Each item below indicates whether it may be used in Email designs, DocumentTRAK, and JotBlocks.
Globally Defined Merge Fields
Globall Merge Defined Fields are fields that come with Nintex eSign by default, and do not require any set up. These fields are available in most areas where a Merge Field can be added. For example, when creating a custom DocumentTRAK webhook, there is a field which allows you to add any Global Merge field you want into the webhookk for that request.
For a list of available Global Merge Fields, refer to the Global Merge Fields List.
Template-Specific Merge Fields
In addition to the Global Merge Fields, there are also user-defined Merge Fields that can be used in conjunction with an envelope or document. These fields are called Sender Inputs, and are manually created through Simple Setup Templates. You can define the parameters of these Sender Inputs, and even perform searches through the Envelope and Document Search functions against these parameters.
For more information refer to the Sender Inputs topic.
