Forms designer ribbon

The ribbon in the Nintex Forms designer contains the following tabs.

  • Control

Designer tab

The Designer tab in the Nintex Forms designer ribbon contains the following buttons.

Button Label/tooltip Description
Save Saves the current form.
Publish Publishes the current form.
Preview Displays the Preview Settings dialog box to preview the current form.
Close Closes the NintexForms designer and returns to the previous location. A warning message appears if the current form has not been saved.
Reset Resets the form to the original, auto-originated state.
Delete Form Deletes the form.

Versions

Allows you to access and restore previously saved or published versions of a form.

Clear All Removes all controls from the form.
Paste (C) Pastes the last copied or cut controls from the clipboard to the current layout.
Cut (C) Cuts the selected controls and places them on the clipboard.
Copy (C) Copies the selected controls and places them on the clipboard.
Select All (C) Selects all controls on the current layout.
Format Painter (C) Copies formatting from the selected control for pasting to another control.
Form Settings Displays the Settings - Form dialog box.

Form Variables

Displays the Form Variables dialog box. See Use form variables.

Import Displays the Import Form dialog box for selecting a form file (*.nfp or *.xml).
Export Initiates browser process to download the current form to a local file (*.nfp).
Properties Displays the Properties pane.
Rules Displays the Rules pane.

Information

Includes the following drop-down options.

  • Subscription Overview: Displays the Subscription Overview dialog box.
  • Service Status: Opens the NintexService Status site in a new tab.
  • What's New: Displays a dialog box listing latest updates to Nintex Forms for Office 365.
  • About: Lists the ID of the tenant that is subscribed to Nintex Forms for Office 365.

Feedback Displays a feedback tool allowing you to provide feedback directly to Nintex.

Help

Includes the following drop-down options.

  • Help: Displays the product help.
  • Support: Opens Nintex Community in a new tab.

Control tab

The Control tab in the Nintex Forms designer ribbon contains the following buttons.

Button Label/tooltip Description
Control Settings Opens the control settings dialog box for the selected control.
Delete Deletes the selected control from the current layout.
Bring to Front (C) Brings the selected control in front of all other controls.
Send to Back (C) Sends the selected control to the back of all other controls.
Paste (C) Pastes the last copied or cut controls from the clipboard to the current layout.
Cut (C) Cuts the selected controls and places them on the clipboard.
Copy (C) Copies the selected controls and places them on the clipboard.
Select All (C) Selects all controls on the current layout.
Format Painter (C) Copies formatting from the selected control for pasting to another control.

Fonts (C)

The font of the selected text.

Size (C)

The font size of the selected text.

(none) (C)

The color of the selected text.

Note: When used in Nintex Mobile layouts, the color must be a HEX or RGB value.

Bold (C)

Make the selected text bold.

Italics (C)

Italicize the selected text.

Underline (C)

Underline the selected text.

Strikethrough (C)

Draw a line through the middle of the selected text in the control.

Clear Formatting (C)

Clear all the formatting from the control.

Color the background of the selected control.

Note: When used in Nintex Mobile layouts, the color must be a HEX or RGB value.

Border Color (C)

Color the border of the selected control.

No Border (C)

Remove all borders of the selected control.

Top Border (C)

Apply a top border to the selected control.

Left Border (C)

Apply a left border to the selected control.

Bottom Border (C)

Apply a bottom border to the selected control.

Right Border (C)

Apply a right border to the selected control.

Align Left (C)

Align the text on the selected control to the left.

Align Center (C)

Align the text on the selected control to the center.

Align Right (C)

Align the text on the selected control to the right.

Align Justify (C)

Justify the text on the selected control.

Horizontal align left (C)

Horizontally aligns selected controls to the left.

Select two or more controls to use this button.

Horizontal align center (C)

Horizontally aligns selected controls in the center.

Select two or more controls to use this button.

Horizontal align right (C)

Horizontally aligns selected controls to the right.

Select two or more controls to use this button.

Vertical align top (C)

Vertically aligns the selected controls on the top.

Select two or more controls to use this button.

Vertical align middle (C)

Vertically aligns the selected controls in the middle.

Select two or more controls to use this button.

Vertical align bottom (C)

Vertically aligns the selected controls on the bottom.

Select two or more controls to use this button.

Distribute horizontally (C)

Evenly distributes the horizontal space between selected controls.

Select three or more controls to use this button.

Distribute vertically (C)

Evenly distributes the vertical space between selected controls.

Select three or more controls to use this button.

Add Rule Displays the Rules pane and adds a new rule to the selected control.
Help Displays the product help.
