Internationalization and Localization
The K2 platform is designed to be compatible with multiple languages through Internationalization and Localization. In the context of this topic, "internationalization" means being able to install K2 on a non-English platform (but the User Interfaces will still render in English), while "localization" means enabling certain User Interface components in K2 to render in different languages.
Internationalization / Worldwide English
K2 server and client components can be installed on any Operating System language, and is tested for installing K2 on platforms for a number of languages including (but not limited to) Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, German and French. This allows K2 to run in English on non-English platforms. Support for non-English platforms includes the following components:
Microsoft Technology | English (Worldwide) | Chinese (Traditional & Simplified) | German | French |
---|---|---|---|---|
Windows Server | X | X | X | X |
SQL Server | X | X | X | X |
SharePoint Server | X | X | X | X |

Localization
The K2 Language Pack is an add-on component that enables cultural adaptation and translation of non-configurable User Interface elements. The Language Pack allows for the SmartForms controls as well as the K2 View Flow report and elements of the K2 Designer to display correctly in different languages. Please refer to the Compatibility and Support Matrix for the latest information on languages that are included in the Language Pack.
