K2 connect for SAP is an add-on component for K2 blackpearl that allows developers to create reusable business entities called SmartObjects. SmartObjects provides integration between K2 blackpearl and SAP without the need for coding. K2 blackpearl is a prerequisite for installing K2 connect for SAP.
K2 connect for SAP enables SAP-sourced data to surface and be consumed in K2 workflows, reports, forms, .NET based applications and Web Services. This improves the effectiveness of the time spent on development, enabling developers from non-experts to SAP Professionals to build applications working with the SAP BAPI (Business Application Programming Interface) to consume these in existing and new Business Applications.
SAP Professionals and consultants may still be needed for either consultative purposes or SAP Administrators could be required to configure specific aspects of SAP for easier and more seamless integration with K2.
